The Seven Factors to Avoid Moisture in Cardboard Boxes
2024-05-15
As an indispensable part of modern logistics, cardboard boxes play a crucial role in containing and protecting products as well as enhancing their aesthetic appeal. Although cardboard boxes are convenient to use, they can be difficult to store and are prone to moisture damage—issues that trouble many manufacturers. So how can we prevent cardboard boxes from getting damp? Keep reading to find out:
1. Pay attention to the storage environment of cardboard boxes—especially in damp areas—and never use such places to store cardboard boxes.
2. The ground level should be slightly elevated—wooden boards can be used to create a raised platform—with sufficient space underneath to allow for air circulation, thus preventing the effects of ground moisture.
3. Cardboard boxes should not be stacked too densely; they should be kept as loose as possible. If stacked too closely, air circulation will be severely restricted, and prolonged accumulation of moist air can easily lead to mold growth.
4. On rainy days, you can wrap quicklime in cloth or burlap sacks and place them in various locations within the storage area to keep the indoor air dry; at the same time, close all doors and windows.
5. Cover it securely with canvas or plastic film to prevent moisture from entering in damp weather.
6. You can use a dehumidifier to remove humid indoor air outdoors, or you can use an industrial fan to blow air onto the cardboard boxes, thereby enhancing indoor air circulation.
7. To keep the warehouse dry over the long term, you can use highly hygroscopic calcium chloride or magnesium chloride, which effectively absorb moisture from the air.
